We all know we need water to survive (just one of the big reasons we have life here on Earth). But are you drinking enough? I’m sure you aren’t the only one. With America being one of the largest consumers of soda it’s not surprising that so many people are lacking in the whole “drinking enough water” department. Running off of a caffeine high doesn’t help either when you’re trying to replace some of those drinks with a plain ol’ bottle of water. Now mind you, I’m not asking you to go cold turkey from all caffeinated beverages; but we can start with replacing just one of those with water.

So how do we fix this?

How can we drink more water?

..well how do you get your kids to eat their vegetables? My dad would make me sit at the table until my plate was empty, but I’m guessing with your full-time job, juggling kids, and whatever else might be going on in life – sitting at a table until you finish your water isn’t really an option. What if you could drink more water just by making it more fun? Ever seen or played the “I’m gonna fly this airplane into your mouth and make noises so it’s way more exciting for you to eat!” and then all the sudden the spoon full of broccoli you thought was going to be impossible to get eaten disappeared rather quickly.

We can do this with water, and I don’t mean sitting at a table or making airplane noises while you drink it (although, still fun) – but we can make our water a little more exciting in two small steps.

First – A Container.

I highly recommend the Hydroflask 64oz bottle; it will keep ice for 24 hours and doesn’t sweat – which means no puddle of water on your desk from a cold drink. Also get the straw attachment; it’s a great little gadget. Or if you want to keep things really simple – mason jars.

Second – Time To Get Creative!

This is the fun part! Time to grab some of your favorite fruit, fresh herbs and vegetables and start creating! Try and stay away from fruit juices or canned fruit in this situation, we are trying to drink more water after all..  I love making these combos and letting them sit in the fridge overnight. They make for one tasty treat in the morning!
