Is Something Hold You Back?

Ok…so you are on your weight loss journey.

One day something clicked and you told yourself enough is ENOUGH.

It’s time to make a change.

You felt like sh*t, your energy sucked, and you had no confidence.

Guess what?! Weight loss, eating better and exercise helps the above and does so much more for your quality of life.

BUT…something is holding you back.

What is it?

Could be your friends, spouse, or just you?

If it’s just you, don’t worry, it’s a thing.

The mental component of weight loss is a huge limiting factor to 99.9% of the people I talk to.

And that’s ok. Tell yourself it is ok. All you can do is learn to control it and when you slip up just learn to be like a baseball player and move on to the next play. For you, understanding what happened and getting back on track the following day is a MASSIVE win.

NOW, what if it is a friend or spouse?

That’s tough.

Let’s be honest…they are holding you back. Bringing you down.

Do you cut them out of your life?

The temptations they approach you with just makes you want to SCREAM!

“Hey, let’s go get a burger?”

“Why are you eating that?”

And the comments go on and on.

What I recommend first is talking to them.

“Listen, this is what I want to do. I am not asking you to go on this journey with me, but to support me.”

“Sometimes, I am not going to eat what you want to eat. Sometimes, I am going to exercise instead of sit on the couch and watch a movie. We cool?”
If they don’t understand they are not your true friends or have the best interest for you.

Do you need to drop them from your life? If the negativity continues I say yes. It will be painful at first, but once you move on and find TRUE supportive people to help you on this journey you won’t even sweat it.
