This months Member of the Month is Hannah, and she is a rock star! Check out our interview with her…

How old are you and where are you from?

This year I will turn thirty!  I grew up in Grayson..I live in Bethlehem now.
What hobbies do you have outside of the gym?
My list of hobbies is long.. 🙂  My condensed list would be~ thrifting, antiquing, being with my husband and kids, serving at my church and anything involving music!
How has fitness affected your life?
Though I have never been ‘athletic’ or even on a consistent exercise plan, I do see that since joining Forge in September, I feel much better physically and mentally.  Being able to lift heavier things around the house, not tire out as quickly when taking my daughter for a stroll or just being able to keep up with my 8 year old son as he runs around the park has been awesome.
What is your favorite and least favorite exercise?
Favorite: Deadlifts (love seeing how much stronger I’m getting!)
Least Favorite: Turkish Getups
What is the hardest challenge you have had inside the gym?
Having the discipline to consistently make it to classes has for sure been my biggest gym challenge.  The first three or four months of me joining Forge, I would literally be sick as I drove to the noon class. I was so intimidated! It took months for me to realize that it’s fine being a beginner… and each class I showed up for… was PROGRESS!
What accomplishment inside Forge-Rx are you most proud of?
I love that less exercises are having to be modified for me now that I’ve been in the gym for a few months.  I may be the last to finish for most classes, but at least I’m getting it done!
Tell us one thing about you people probably don’t know?
I love music!  I sing, play the guitar and piano.
What is the biggest goal you have accomplished since joining Forge-Rx?
When I joined Forge in September, my goal was weight loss.  After months of hard work and commitment, I have thankfully had the reward of seeing the numbers on the scale drop.  However, over the past several months of being inside the gym, I’ve accomplished something even greater than losing weight.. my mindset has changed.  Because I have seen that my body is capable of so much when I work out, I don’t have to see the scale going down to be inspired.  Sure, one week my weight may drop and that’s always exciting! But.. if the next week the scale is the same yet I’m able to squat more weight, I now can see that as an equal win.. a victory.  So yeah, getting in the mindset of being focused on overall health and not just the scale, has been a tremendous win.
What do you like best about our classes?
I love that each class is challenging and fast paced.  Though I don’t always enjoy the hard work during the class, afterwards I always feel better and so accomplished.
What do you like best about our coaches?
Where do I even start?! The coaches at Forge are so awesome! When I first joined Forge I trained with Evan.  At each session, he was insanely patient and encouraging!  Evan got me to a level of confidence in the gym that I could have never imagined having.  Fast forward a few months and now I’m training with Becca.. Becca is so genuine and really loves helping people.  It shows tremendously in the way she trains!  Each time I come in for my session with Becca, I know I’m going to be PUSHED!
There are other coaches too that I have met and loved.  All of the Forge coaches seem to have a couple things in common..
-They care about people and have a passion for fitness.
If you could have dinner with one dead or alive celebrity who would it be and why?
I’m a country music girl to the core.. I’d probably pick Garth Brooks or Alan Jackson.  I bet they’d have some awesome stories and good songs to share.
What food should not be in your pantry?
No sugary food should be in my pantry.  None.
What is your most embarrassing moment?
My FIRST day of high school, I fell from the the TOP of the bleachers all.the.way.to.the.bottom- in front of about 100+ classmates.  It was horrific.  I’m NOT graceful.. but now I don’t care near as much. 🙂
Describe your perfect night?
The perfect night for me would probably be spent around a bonfire.. lots of good friends.. pickin’ the guitar and singing some good music.
What is your favorite thing about Forge-Rx?
The comradery at Forge is THE BEST!!!
What is your biggest fitness goal moving forward?
Moving forward in my fitness journey, my biggest goal is to be more consistent with my nutrition.
You been an AMAZING addition to the Forge Family Hannah! Your personality can not be matched!
